GIOIA D’INVERNO

GIOIA D’INVERNO

Behind the scenes of IL VOLO Fall-Winter 26/27

Autumn has its own kind of joy

The joy of dressing for an evening out, of slipping into silk, of choosing the perfect detail before stepping into the night. Gioia d’Inverno is IL VOLO’s expression of that feeling – a collection created around the pleasure of dressing beautifully and celebrating the season in your own way.

This is the first drop of IL VOLO Fall-Winter 26/27, introducing a selection of evening silhouettes in some of the fabrics that have become part of the IL VOLO language. More pieces and new expressions of the collection will follow soon.
But before the clothes arrive online, there is another part of their story worth sharing: the days spent preparing them, fitting them, choosing the details and bringing the collection to life.

It starts with the fabric

For IL VOLO, the fabric is always part of the beginning.

For this collection, double silk satin takes centre stage. With its beautiful weight, soft drape and subtle sheen, it lends itself naturally to the fluid silhouettes that define this first drop – from the softly draped ALLEGRA Dress to the sculptural lines of GRAZIA.

Alongside silk, Chantilly and Calais-Caudry lace bring a completely different feeling. Delicate, intricate and transparent, they appear throughout the collection in unexpected ways: extending beyond silk satin hems, tracing the body, or creating sheer panels against the skin.

There is something particularly beautiful about the contrast between the two. The smoothness of silk against the intricate texture of lace; structure and softness; coverage and transparency.

For the more tailored pieces, silk wool introduces another side of the collection. Its refined texture and natural structure bring definition to silhouettes such as the RINA Skirt and AMOS Pants, while still retaining the softness that is central to IL VOLO.

The beauty is in the details

The first drop is defined by a dark palette, in rich brown & black, allowing the fabrics and construction to speak for themselves.

But black is never simply black when it comes to silk and lace.

The light moves differently across double silk satin. Chantilly lace reveals and conceals the skin. Silk wool adds depth and structure. A crystal detail catches the light unexpectedly. A bow changes the feeling of a neckline. An open back transforms a simple silhouette.

These details are small, but they are what give each piece its character.

The VITA Dress, for example, combines long panels of silk satin with sheer Chantilly lace, creating a silhouette that feels both sensual and refined. GIOIA brings lace into a shorter, more playful proportion, while RINA explores the contrast between structured silk wool and delicate lace at the hem.

And then there are the pieces that let the silk speak almost entirely for itself – fluid, minimal silhouettes where the beauty lies in the cut, the proportion and the way the fabric falls.

The finishing touches

The clothes may be the centre of the story, but the styling completes it.

For this shoot, the collection was paired with sculptural jewelry, evening bags and metallic accents – touches of gold and silver. The accessories bring a little more light into the winter palette, while keeping the clothes at the centre.

It is a balance we love at IL VOLO: a beautiful dress does not need much, but the right detail can change everything.

Gioia d’Inverno is only the beginning. This is the first drop of the Fall/Winter 26/27 collection,
with more silhouettes, fabrics and new expressions of IL VOLO femininity coming soon.
